Saturday 15th June 1844 The weather is delightful - all that is wanting - is rain, Sabbath 16th June Attended Church all The Rev Mr Peas Preach'd two - rather - Shrutulary Sermons Attended a Prayer meeting in the evening The weather cool & pleasant Monday 17th June Cloudy & cool Looks some like rain Hope we may be blest with rain Tuesday 18th June Pleasant and very dry - cool Night Wednesday 19th June This has been a very hot day - dry weather continues - grass is suffering very much Thursday 20th June Very hot and very dry - Friday 21st June Cloudy & cool in the morning before night - as hot and as dry as ever Saturday 22d June The day commences with a fine soft moderate rain - Ohe the Blessings of Providence - they are great and ought to be greatly - ador'd! a few days past the Earth has mourned for the want of refreshing showers to day the windows of Heaven are open - The rain is refreshing the Earth, The Beasts and the Birds Rejoice - and Shall Man be Silent oh my Soul - Bless the Lord - Sabbath 23d June This has been a most delightful day I attended Church all day - The Rev Mr Grettle of Branford - Preach'd he is
