Document notes
Thirteen selected complete-page representations from PDF pages2-14. Historical docket/title views on pages2 and14, substantive manuscript text and the sparse ending on page13 are retained. The supplied source is labelled Slave Trade; a separately preserved Transkribus export provenance title refers to a contract to deliver enslaved Africans to Brazil in1726, which is contextual identification rather than a new transcription or exhaustive date validation. The source PDF uses overlapping JPEG2000 images and explicit image masks. Every prepared PNG preserves the complete PDF page composition, both layers and mask, at the maximum embedded image grid for that page:2101x2973 pixels except PDF page10 at1051x1486. The source-defined affine transform on PDF page4 and page clipping remain in the composition. This requires decoding and raster composition; the PNGs are lossless containers of those rendered page pixels, not byte-identical native images or proof of decoded-pixel equality to individual source layers. No additional lossy compression, manual deskew, crop, enhancement or generative repair was applied. The clearly modern reference-only cover is excluded from the upload selection and remains preserved in the unchanged source PDF and provenance. No wholly blank selected view was identified. Sparse historical labels, marginalia, dockets and endings are substantive and retained. One selected archival-unit record only, with no whole-volume completeness or unique-leaf count claimed. Exact creator and date fields remain unassigned. Original PDFs remain unchanged. No automatic transcription, new transcription from scratch, or completed transcription review is claimed. Historical date status: unresolved, not established as genuinely undated. The source-label years and component dates above are preserved as qualified evidence; no upload timestamp or enclosing range is assigned as the historical creation date. Existing transcriptions are unchanged.
